Violinist Alessandro Ruisi performs internationally as a chamber musician, soloist and leader. He is first violin of the Ruisi Quartet who are recipients of the Royal Philharmonic Society Award. The quartet recently released their debut album ‘Big House’ on Pentatone Records and a disc with British soprano Mary Bevan, both receiving high critical acclaim. Recent performances include the premiere of ‘Növények’ by Thomas Adès at the Wigmore Hall.

Alongside the quartet Alessandro is regularly invited to guest lead orchestras across Europe. Recent   engagements include leading Aurora Orchestra at the Royal Opera House as well as appearing as concertmaster in Europe with the Swiss Ensemble Chaarts.

Alessandro has appeared as a soloist across the UK, Europe and North America. Highlights include performing Bach concerti at Bach’s church in Leipzig and next season he will perform alongside Thomas Adès at the Louis Vuitton Foundation in Paris.

Alessandro records and performs with an array of artists including Jimmy Page, Nick Cave, Björk and Radiohead.
