Max Ruisi - Cello
British cellist Max Ruisi has performed in leading concert halls throughout Europe as an award-winning chamber musician, both as an individual and with the Ruisi Quartet. Recent engagements have included performances at The Wigmore Hall, Paris Philharmonie, King’s Place, Royal Albert Hall (BBC Proms) and La Mortella (Italy), and broadcasts on BBC Radio 3. Max is also Artistic Director & principal cellist of The 12 ensemble, London's un-conducted string orchestra.
Max has performed with a number of chamber orchestras, including the Aurora Orchestra, European Union Chamber Orchestra (Principal), the London Contemporary Orchestra and the LCO Soloists. After graduating from GSMD, Max studied with Rainer Schmidt (Hagen Quartet) at the Basel Hochschule fur Musik, and at the Netherlands String Quartet Academy. Max has also spent time in Prague studying with Pavel Fischer (Skampa Quartet). He performs on a cello made by Sebastian Klotz C. 1760.
